UK Punk-rock icons Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will headline on Friday and will be joined that day by Neck Deep, Holding Absence, Boston Manor, Hot Milk, Sleep Token, Malevolance and Death Blooms, who will kick off the event.
Enter Shikari will take the headline spot on Saturday. Ahead of them will be While She Sleeps, Twin Atlantic, Yonaka, Wargasm, Bleed From Within, Creeper, Conjurer, As Everything Unfolds, Lotus Eater, Stone Broken, Vukovi, “A”, Those Damn CRows, The Hara and Tigercub.
And Bullet For My Valentine are set for a hero’s welcome as the Welsh metal giants close out the weekend on Sunday night with their ninth appearance at Download.
Earlier that day, fans will be rocked by Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Skindred, Lonely The Brave, The Wildhearts, Loathe, Employed to Serve, Saint Agnes, Trash Boat, Jamie Lenman, Static Dress, Higher Power, Cassyette, Massive Wagons, Chubby & The Gang and Elvana.
Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari said: “After 18 months trapped inside, we cannot wait to be back in our favourite element; playing music beneath an open sky.
“It’s also fitting, as we have a long history with Download… 2021 being the 15th anniversary of our first time there – which also happened to be our first ever festival show.
“We’re incredibly proud to be headlining an event that helps to get live music back on its feet in the UK.”
And Matt Tuck of Bullet For My Valentine added: “We’re beyond honoured to be part of this historic music event to kick start the live music industry and bringing back live music to people lives. The world has been quiet for too long, time to bring the noise”
