Support Independent Critical Journalism

Rock & Art is sustained by readers who believe critical voices matter.

We publish cultural journalism that refuses neutrality, centres marginalised perspectives, and operates outside corporate media structures. No advertisers. No corporate owners. No editorial compromise.

If you value independent, critical cultural journalism, become a member and help sustain this work. Your support makes it possible.

Why Support Rock & Art?

We’re not clickbait. We publish long-form analysis, not hot takes designed for algorithms.

We’re not neutral. We take clear positions grounded in anti-racism, feminism, queer liberation, and decolonial thought.

We’re not selling you anything. No sponsored content, no affiliate links, no hidden agendas.

We pay contributors fairly. As our support grows, we’re building toward paying every writer we publish.

We’re building for the long term. Not chasing viral moments—creating a sustainable platform for critical thought.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why charge at all? Shouldn’t critical journalism be free?
We keep most content free. Memberships allow us to pay contributors fairly, maintain editorial independence, and build sustainably. Free journalism often means corporate funding or advertiser influence. We choose reader support instead.

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime, no questions asked. You’ll have access until the end of your billing period.

Do you offer student or hardship discounts?
Yes. Email us at support@rockandart.org with proof of student status or a brief note about your situation. We never want cost to be a barrier.

I’m outside the UK. Can I still support?
Absolutely. We accept payments globally. All prices are shown in GBP, but your bank will convert automatically.

Can I make a one-time donation instead?
Yes. Make a one-time donation here →

Yes. We use [Wise/PayPal/your payment processor] for secure payment processing. We never see or store your card details.
